mark, i live in the canadian prairie and nearly every property is fenced for the entirety of it. i drive gravel roads with fences on each side always. it restricts how close you can get to a subject, and how you compose. i noticed looking over older street photos i tend to layer images but that’s very hard if your subject is always at least 30 feet or more from you. something longer lenses can help with.

Tresspassing is a way to solve the problem, no? What a little jail time or buckshot when you can get the composition you want? 😉

ha. indeed sometimes it has to happen, and it’s only trespassing if it’s posted. it’s just an odd thing i noticed by contrasting older work vs newer. change over time is subtle i guess.
